Muse are famous for their energetic and extravagant live performances, featuring elaborate stage designs with heavy use of pyrotechnics and visual effects.
Initially dubbed as Rocket Baby Dolls, the band started in 1994 when three childhood friends from Teignmouth, Devon, decided to form a rock group. After winning a local battle of the bands, they became Muse. Five years after forming, they released their debut record, Showbiz, which was a modest success with 'Unintended' being their first single to hit the top 20. The recognition landed Muse spots at some of the biggest music festivals, which they would go on to headline multiple times in later years. Origin of Symmetry and Absolution, the band's second and third records were both met with wide praise, with the latter being the first of 7 consecutive studio records to reach number 1 in the official UK album charts. Muse have become one of the most successful and influential rock bands in the world, with nine albums and numerous awards to their name.
